As far as red-letter sessions go, 10 thirties and 35 fish from Farlows in 48 hours is right up there with the very best!

The angler smashing them up on the Colne Valley day-ticket venue lately is Nick Bourdon, who continued where he left off from two highly successfully overnighters to record an amazing haul of fish, which included a 39lb 8oz mirror and one of the lake’s coveted big linears at 37lb 6oz.

Fishing three rods tight on a spot and spodding regularly with a mixture of crumbed and whole Secret 7 and Switch boilies, corn and hemp has been key to Nick’s success on the venue lately.

At the business end, the ever-faithful Milky Malt pop-ups tipped with maggots have been producing the goods for Nick.

Nick added: “It wasn’t long before the action started. I kept the spot topped up all day and through the night to make sure the bites kept coming.”
