Solid bags are a deadly method at the best of times, but when you customise them like John Dunn does, they can be absolutely lethal!
A recent trip to Eagle Lake on the Tees Valley Lakes complex in the North East saw John take seven fish on solids, including some lovely scalies and the pick of the bunch, a 26lb 12oz mirror.
To ensure John’s solids packed a punch and stood out from the rest of the anglers’ baits on the lake, he filled them in Crayfish Mini Mix pellets, which he had pre-soaked in Fish Hydro, and Betastim pellets, which he had given an extra coating of Betastim. For good measure, he also added some Red Mist and Krill Meal, creating the ultimate attractor package.
John fished his solids over a mixture of Secret 7 and Switch pellets soaked in matching liquid foods, and used a combination of Secret 7 and SLK dumbbell wafters as hookbaits.
