Big-carp king Christian Finkelde recently got his hands on one of the most-coveted fish in a large, challenging German gravel pit.

The former common world-record holder had seen some fish rolling in an area, so cast a 15mm SLK Corker pop-up to a spot near some weed, close to where he had seen the activity, and baited over the top with a mixture of 8mm and 12mm SLK and Switch boilies.

The plan worked, and after a hard battle close to the snags, a magnificent half linear of 26.1kg (57lb 9oz) succumbed to the net.
