Lee Hooker’s investment in an Abbey Lakes winter syndicate proved well worth the money, culminating in a dream birthday session that produced an epic new personal best of 61lb 8oz!
The 52-year-old from Gislingham, Suffolk, split his week-long session between Attila Lake and Heron Lake, landing nine fish in total, with the PB-busting mirror from Heron Lake backed up by two forties of 44lb 8oz and 43lb 8oz.
Lee put his faith in a Bug-based approach, baiting up with a mixture of crushed Bug boilies and particles, all coated in lashings of Bug Hydro Spod Syrup. At the business end, he opted for PB pop-ups tipped with maggots on Ronnie rigs.
