AUTUMN CAMPAIGN OFF TO A FLYER!
It’s all systems go for George Davies now, as he looks to capitalise on the autumn up on his North Yorkshire syndicate, Catterick Racecourse.
With a few of his target fish due appearances, George is hopeful of something special over the next couple of months, and he got his autumn campaign off to a flying start recently, landing a fish known as Jayne at 29lb 8oz as part of a three-fish catch.
George said: “After a couple of weeks away, I got my autumn campaign under way and to say the weather was extreme would be an understatement! Torrential rain and some serious winds brought a nice big low pressure, so I knew there was certainly a chance of nabbing one.
“Having walked the lake for two hours in the insane rain, I located a couple of carp and set myself a plan of attack of fishing three different spots, all fished with a mix of whole and chopped Bug and SLK boilies, as well as a few handfuls of crumb, soaked in Bug Amino Smoke and Bug Hydro Spod Syrup, with a dusting of Krill Meal. I then fished Bug and SLK EVO hookbaits over the top.
“Thirty minutes later, following a change of clothes due to me being soaked to the bone, I was pleasantly surprised when the alarm came to life with a lovely looking, home-grown common came to the net at 21lb-plus.
“I then went on to pick up another two fish to just under 30lb, including one named Jayne at 29lb 8oz. I was mega stoked with this result for the first session of my autumn campaign and hopefully I’ll have a few more to share over the next two months, with a couple of my targets due appearances. It’s all systems go!”
