BANTONS BUG BEAST BREAKS LAKE RECORD!
The Bug is taking Wyreside Lakes by storm at the moment, accounting for a new lake record on Bantons Lake!
The delighted captor was 31-year-old Stewart Paxford from Wigan, whose patient approach saw him tempt the magnificent Cluster, which weighed in at a record-breaking and PB-smashing 38lb 14oz.
“With this being my second session on my new ticket and the weather looking good, I was feeling very confident,” said Stewart.
“I opted to get right on the wind and look for signs of any showing fish, and it wasn’t long before one nutted out 30 yards right in front of me. I couldn’t set up quick enough!
“After getting my rigs in place and putting plenty bait out, I just sat on my hands and watched for signs. The following afternoon, a big fish threw itself out right on the spot; it could only be a matter of time! Then my right-hand rod burst into action and after a serious battle I realised I was into something special. After 20 minutes or so, there she was in my net, Cluster at 38lb 14oz, a new personal best for me and a new lake record for Bantons. Another one bites The Bug!”
Stewart fished with a trimmed-down Bug Corker pop-up on a Ronnie rig, which he presented over a bed of 15mm Bug freebies.
