BIG ’UN’S SECOND CAPTURE ON THE BUG IN 3 WEEKS!
We think it’s probably fair to say the Knotford big ’un loves The Bug, having been caught on it twice in three weeks, the second time weighing in almost 4lb heavier!
Its captor, Richard Armistead, is enjoying a fine run of results on the Yorkshire club water, finding success by fishing three rods over a big bed of Bug-based goodness.
The 55-year-old said: “I returned to the lake after work on Thursday and decided on the same area as the previous week, when I had fish of 27lb-plus and 18lb.
“I baited a clear area in weed at 80 yards with five kilos of spod mix and fished three on the spot. The following morning, I had a screaming take, but unfortunately the fish fell off. I decided to top up the spot at lunchtime with another two kilos of bait.
“The following morning, I had another screaming take which resulted in the capture of the lake’s largest resident. Unbelievably, I’d caught this same fish three weeks previously at 46lb. It now weighs 49lb 12oz, which was another new PB for me. She obviously loves The Bug!”
The fish tripped up to a snowman presentation comprising a Bug EVO bottom bait tipped with a Bug Corker pop-up, which was offered enticingly over a mixture of 12mm, 15mm and 18mm Bug boilies, corn and pellets, all soaked in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup.
