BUG & SLK COMBO YIELD 15-FISH LINEAR HIT!

Aaron Mcilwaine’s summer visit to the Linear Fisheries complex from his home in Belfast yielded its usual array of bites, 17 of them to be precise!

Fishing both Gaunts and Unity on the GUYs syndicate, Aaron eventually landed 15 fish over the course of his trip, with highlights including four thirties to 37lb 14oz.

Aaron said: “I decided to start on Gaunts where I got off to a great start, landing four fish very quickly, with two of them being well over 30lb! It then went quiet and the fish moved off, so I pulled the rods out and went looking for them. I soon found them in a swim called the Willow, where I managed to add another fish to the tally in the shape of a mid-twenty common before the fish moved off yet again.

“I found myself looking for a move once again, so this time I headed to Unity. Once I found the fish, the rods were positioned, the area was baited and the bites then started. I even had three double takes; they were certainly loving The Bug and SLK!

“In total I had 17 takes, landing 15 of them, with the four biggest going 30lb 11oz, 32lb 1oz, 33lb 1oz and a long, hard-fighting 37lb 14oz mirror, all of which I have captured for my latest vlog!

“Tactics-wise, I went in with my usual mix of crushed, chopped and whole 12mm and 15mm Bug and SLK boilies. As always, I had pre-soaked them in their matching Liquid Foods before adding the Hydro Spod Syrups before baiting up. I also added some hemp and tigers to the mix.

“Hookbaits were either the matching Corker wafters or the EVO hookbaits – what mega hookbaits they are!”
