An opportunist bit of angling by Jack Gardiner during a session on Burgh Castle Fisheries saw him bank this stunning mid-twenty mirror.

The 23-year-old chef from Great Yarmouth said: “I went for a wander to find some fish and came across this mirror patrolling up and down the far margin over a massive clear spot, where it was obvious the fish had cleaned up. I waited for the fish to disappear before I got a rig in place and within five minutes had two single bleeps before the tip bent round. As I struck into the fish, I found it had buried itself into the nearby reeds, which meant I had to get into the boat before I could land this absolutely beauty.”

The fish fell to a single Milky Malt pop-up cast to the clear spot.
