Do you live and breathe fishing, social media and creating content that stops people scrolling? This could be the job for you.

Due to the continued growth of the company and our ever-expanding presence across social media, DNA Baits is looking for a talented and highly motivated Short-Form Videographer/Content Creator to join our team.

This is an exciting new role created specifically to help drive the next stage of our digital content, with the successful candidate working across both DNA Baits and Aquastim.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will focus primarily on the creation of engaging, entertaining and highly shareable short-form video content, designed specifically for platforms such as Facebook and Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

We’re looking for someone who understands what makes people stop scrolling, how to grab attention within the opening seconds of a video and how to turn an idea, fishing session, product, personality or moment on the bank into content people genuinely want to watch and share.

One day you could be out filming a DNA angler targeting big carp; the next you might be creating fast-paced product content at DNA HQ, filming an Aquastim match angler in action or developing an entirely new Reel or TikTok concept from scratch.

You’ll have the freedom to bring new ideas, creativity and personality to the role while working closely with the existing media and marketing team to ensure everything produced remains unmistakably DNA Baits or Aquastim.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The role will include:

  • Planning, filming and editing short-form videos for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Producing regular Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts across the DNA Baits and Aquastim channels.
  • Creating content covering carp fishing, match/coarse fishing, bait, tackle, tutorials, tips, entertainment and behind-the-scenes activity.
  • Developing original short-form concepts rather than simply following existing trends.
  • Identifying relevant social-media trends, formats, hooks and editing styles and adapting them appropriately for the fishing audience.
  • Creating strong opening hooks and structuring videos to maximise watch time, retention, engagement and shares.
  • Shooting content specifically with vertical/mobile viewing in mind.
  • Editing footage into polished, fast-moving content using appropriate music, captions, graphics, sound design and transitions.
  • Working with DNA and Aquastim anglers to help bring their personalities and knowledge to life on camera.
  • Producing engaging product-focused content that showcases bait and its applications without every video feeling like an advert.
  • Capturing enough material from filming days to create multiple pieces of content across different platforms.
  • Reacting quickly when opportunities arise – whether that’s a huge capture, an interesting story, a new product or a trending topic.
  • Working alongside the wider media team on campaigns, launches, competitions, events and other major projects.
  • Reviewing content performance and using the results to understand what works, what doesn’t and what we should do more of.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re not necessarily looking for somebody with a particular degree or an enormous corporate CV.

We’re looking for somebody who can create brilliant content.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern short-form video and be equally comfortable behind a camera, editing at a computer and coming up with ideas.

You’ll need to be creative, self-motivated and capable of seeing content opportunities other people might miss.

A genuine understanding of fishing – particularly carp fishing and/or match and coarse fishing – is essential.

We’re particularly interested in somebody who:

  • Has experience filming and editing engaging video content.
  • Understands TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts and how audiences consume content differently on each platform.
  • Has a strong eye for composition, lighting and storytelling.
  • Can edit confidently and efficiently to a professional standard.
  • Understands the importance of the first few seconds of a short-form video.
  • Can turn relatively simple moments into entertaining pieces of content.
  • Is bursting with ideas and isn’t afraid to suggest or experiment with new formats.
  • Can work independently but also enjoys collaborating with anglers and the wider DNA team.
  • Is organised enough to manage multiple shoots, edits and deadlines.
  • Is comfortable spending plenty of time out on the bank.
  • Has a genuine passion for producing content and wants to build something rather than simply tick off a list of jobs.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

This is an opportunity to become a key part of the content operation behind two established fishing brands, with the freedom to make a genuine impact on how DNA Baits and Aquastim are presented to anglers online.

You’ll have the opportunity to travel, fish, meet some fantastic anglers, attend events, work around major captures and create content that will be seen by a substantial fishing audience.

More importantly, this is a brand-new position. That means the successful candidate won’t simply be stepping into somebody else’s role; they’ll have the opportunity to help shape it from the beginning.

We want somebody who can bring ideas to us, challenge what we’re already doing and help take our short-form content to another level.

If you’re the sort of person who watches a fishing session unfold and immediately thinks, “There’s a Reel in that,” we want to hear from you.

Salary package will be based depending on experience and ability.
