James Williams had to work hard for it during a recent trip to Millbrook Fisheries, but his efforts were eventually rewarded with a new personal best!
With some thick weed growth present in the lake, James targeted a couple of small spots amongst the green stuff for the first 24 hours, but nothing materialised. However, the next day he spotted some fizzing amongst a different hole in the weed. James managed to flick a PB wafter into the hole and then baited over the top with a small bed of Crayfish Maxi Mix pellets.
An hour later, the rod signalled a take as the fish immediately weeded him up. Keeping steady pressure on, the fish started to move and before too long, a lovely 29lb mirror slid into James’s net.
