Adam Jenkins was thrilled to tick another A-teamer off the list on the Roman Lake syndicate at Stanwick Lakes when his Amino Smoke-coated hookbait was picked up by Sparky, a coveted 39lb 6oz mirror.
The 43-year-old from Leicestershire had the bite a short while after moving swims, having offered a Bug Corker wafter that he’d soaked in Bug Amino Smoke and dusted in Bug EVO Powder over a bed of mixed-sized Bug freebies and pellets coated in Sweet Cayenne Pepper.
Adam said: “Upon waking up after the first night, the fish were extremely active off the back of the cold northerly wind. Although I wasn’t a million miles away, after a conversation with a friend, I decided a move was on the cards.
“Once in the new swim, I deployed my rigs with as little fuss as possible and within an hour had a take from a fish that unfortunately fell off. Feeling a little despondent and wondering if my chance had gone, about an hour little I was away again! This time I won the battle and was rewarded with a fish known as Sparky at 39lb 6oz. I was proper chuffed with this one as it is another A-teamer ticked off the list.”
