FEBRUARY FORTY ON POACHERS POOL
A 36-hour session on the lesser-known lake on the Holme Fen complex, Poachers Pool, saw Rory Warburton pick off a winter chunk!
The 35-year-old from Cambridgeshire targeted a spot that worked well for him last winter, an area at 12.5 wraps, and baited it with a mixture of 12mm and 15mm Bug boilies using a throwing stick.
Over the top of the area, he offered a 12mm Fruitylicious pop-up that had been soaked in matching Intense Booster and Sticky Sweet inside a solid bag of crushed Bug boilies, Crayfish Mini Mix and Bug pellets and a bit of Fruit Sense powder.
The result of Rory’s tactics was a lump of a mirror that tipped the scales at 41lb 8oz, sending home a very happy angler indeed!
