This morning, the hugely popular Cretelakes complex in France threw up one of its largest residents at a staggering 76lb 3oz from Lake 1.

The successful angler was 52-year-old Rob Mitchell from Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex, who was targeting a silt bed in 9ft of water at 23 wraps.

He fished the spot with a 12mm PB pop-up on a Ronnie rig with a size 4 hook and baited with a mixture of crushed Bug, Secret 7 and SLK freebies.
