There is something a bit special about Northamptonshire commons, and there’s little wonder why Richard Angell appears so delighted with this particular capture!
The 33-year-old from Cranfield managed to find a lovely clear spot among the weed, where he decided to present a spinner rig baited with an SLK Corker wafter that he had prepared with SLK EVO Liquid and Liver Powder. Over the top, he baited up with a mixture of 15mm SLK boilies, Bug mini dumbbells and Crayfish Mini Mix pellets, all soaked in the super-stinky Fish Hydro.
When the bite came, the fish weeded Richard up twice, but eventually it came free and a short while later he was cradling a magnificent golden common of 37lb.
