Andy Leather was rewarded for getting up early and moving on to showing fish with his first capture of the season from the challenging St Ives Lagoon syndicate in Cambridgeshire.
Known as Apples and weighing in at 40lb on the button, the majestic mirror succumbed to a PB pop-up presented on a chod rig fished amongst a scattering of Secret 7 boilies that Andy put out with a throwing stick.
The S7 freebies had previously been soaked in S7 Liquid Food and coated in Insect Meal.
What a way to kick-start the new season!
