I WAS IN DREAMLAND!
The DreamLakes complex certainly lived up to its billing for Essex carper Steve Antoniou, giving him a massive new personal best as part of an immense 14-fish catch!
Having already landed three forties to 48lb 10oz and many back-up thirties, Steve then latched on to something considerably bigger in the glow of the Full Moon. The culprit turned out to be a massive 65lb common and a new personal best for Steve, who was on only his second-ever outing with DNA products.
“On the Thursday evening we had a Full Moon, so everything seemed spot on for a fish or two,” admitted Steve.
“Late into the evening, my left-hand rod ripped off with a one-toner. I played the fish for what seemed like a lifetime until it finally graced my net. When I looked down into my net, I knew I had something special and my suspicions were correct, as when it was weighed I had a massive new PB common of 65lb on the nose.
“This was only my second outing using DNA, the first being at Berners Hall where I had some good fish on The Bug and now this a 65-pounder! Will I be changing? I don’t think so!”
Steve was fishing with PB wafters on German rigs, which he fished amongst a mixture of Bug boilies in 15mm, 18mm and mini dumbbell, as well as some Bug pellets and maize, all smothered in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup.
