It isn’t just Roger Bacon who has been holding up the Kingsmead 1 big ’uns for the camera lately, as fellow DNA consultant Olly Sanders has also been getting on the action!
Having focused on the likes Church Lake and the Boat Pool in recent years, Olly decided to give K1 a go this year and on his first trip of the season landed the magnificent Armageddon to set a huge new personal best of 51lb 2oz.
“The first trip of my season on Kingsmead 1 couldn’t have gone any better,” said Olly.
“After not being able to get on the fish for my first night, I knew a move would be on the cards the following morning.
“I managed to move into an area where I had seen a few shows in the early hours of the night before, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine what would be my first bite from the lake the following morning. A roaring one-toner pierced the morning silence and after one hell of a fight, I had an enormous personal-best mirror and a fish I dearly wanted in my album sulking in the bottom of my net.”
Olly is opting to keep his tactics and spots under wraps for now, which we are of course respecting.
A massive congratulations on the new PB, mate!
