Michael Bentley told us the Kingfisher carp on the Bluebell complex are the trickiest carp he has ever encountered, something many anglers who have fished there will probably agree with.
“Just the amount of angling pressure they see makes them constantly on edge,” said Michael, who recently spent a few warm days on the popular day-ticket complex.
“Day-time bites were a write-off with the heat, so I opted to just fish nights up to about 9 o’clock in the morning.
“After a couple of days of locating the patrol routes and spots the fish felt comfortable in, I finally had a plan to nail my first Kingfisher carp and what a carp it was, all 35lb 8oz of it. A fish known as the Zip Lin. To say I was made up would be an understatement.
“The big-fish stock across the Bluebell complex is mind-blowing, and the rewards are there. With a little patience, cunning and big-carp bait, SLK, they are catchable! I’m already planning my next trip.”
