The Embryo lakes up and down the country continue to go from strength to strength, with one of its Oxfordshire waters recently throwing up a new lake-record common.

Phil’s Lake is a 14-acre pit just south of Abingdon and home to some beautiful carp, with this 37lb 10oz common being amongst the largest. The fish was landed at its biggest-ever weight by local angler, Lee Freeman, during a 48-hour session, giving him a new PB common in the process.

Lee targeted a silty spot at 80 yards, where he offered an 15mm SLK Corker pop-up on a spinner rig amongst a mixture of SLK and Bug freebies.
