LAKE RECORD TUMBLES AS THE BUG DOMINATES!
Liam Huggins has recorded some outstanding captures over the past few weeks on a very deep and very weedy Essex syndicate, and he puts it all down to the power of The Bug and the exceptional salt-cured Bug EVO hookbaits.
Liam’s recent run began with a stunning 34lb 8oz mirror, but things were about to get even better just a week or two later, when he set a new lake record and broke his personal best in the process with a remarkable-looking mirror of 38lb 12oz on the same salt-cured Bug EVO hookbaits.
Taking up the story of the new lake record, Liam said: “I arrived on Friday after finishing work and after only a few hours had managed to land a pristine 26lb common.
“I reset the rod and it wasn’t until 8 o’clock the next morning that the rod exploded into life. As soon as I picked up the rod, it was evident this was a much more powerful fish than the last, barrelling into weedbeds, taking little breaks and then bursting back into life to find the next weedbed. After a half-hour battle, I finally managed to slip it into the net, all 38lb 12oz of stunning mirror carp, a new lake record and a new PB for myself.
