LAKE’S BIGGEST TOPS EIGHT-FISH CATTERICK HIT
A crazy spell of action on Catterick Racecourse up in North Yorkshire saw Daniel Bowler land eight fish in the space of 14 hours, including the lake’s largest resident!
Prebaiting an area with a mixture of Bug mini dumbbells and 15-millers, pellets and SLK Stick Mix proved absolutely key for the 23-year-old year, who capped his haul with a huge fish for the region, a 34lb mirror.
Daniel said: “After dropping on to the lake for an overnight session on the Wednesday night with plans to return on the Thursday night for two nights, I filled my areas in with several kilos of bait in the hope of dropping on to them the next night,” said Daniel.
“The Wednesday night passed without action, but upon returning on the Thursday night, the fish were well on the feed and after topping up with a few Spombs on each spot, I quickly got my first fish. This action continued through the night into the next morning and I landed eight fish in total in the first 14 hours, including the lake’s largest fish at just over 34lb.”
Bug Corker wafters fished over the baited area did all of Daniel’s bites.
