As is typical for September, it’s big fish after big fish at the moment, particularly on Cambridgeshire syndicate water, Monks Pit, where Andy Sargent has bagged himself one of the lake’s most-coveted inhabitants.
Having baited an area with eight kilos of 12mm, 15mm and 18mm SLK and Bug boilies, all smothered in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup, and fishing an 18mm SLK hookbait over the top, Andy would go on to a receive a take from a Monks Pit relic, a cracking old fish known as the Northern Lin, tipping the scales at 40lb 12oz.
“I’m absolutely made up with this one, as it’s one of the fish I really wanted to catch,” said Andy.
