MONKS PIT THIRTIES ON CANDY STICK ZIGS!
Fresh from catching his first thirty of the year from a Norfolk estate lake, Steve Haylett took his good form over to Monks Pit in Cambridgeshire!
Steve said: “Having arrived to a busy lake, I was unable to get any of my chosen swims for the first 24 hours, but moved on to some fish for the remaining 24 when a swim became free. Casting two zigs to showing fish was the tactic, baited with PB Candy Sticks coated in PB Intense Booster. I then spodded over the top with a mixture of K-Stim and crumbed-up Switch, mixed with a little lake water for the right consistency.
“Withing an hour I had a common of 30lb 4oz off the right-hand rod. Then the middle rod went off two hours later, producing a mirror of 39lb 7oz.
“The fish seemed to move off after that. I left the next morning after a quiet night, but very happy nevertheless.”
