NEW PB CAPS 43-FISH JURASSICA HAUL!
Andy Baxter is still recovering after an arm-arching week at Jurassica in France that saw him record a massive haul of 43 carp, capped by a new personal best, a belting common of 56lb 6oz.
“What a red-letter session that was,” said Andy on his return from the craziest week’s angling in the company of his missus.
“We were fishing the newly split-off section of the main lake, which had been stocked over the winter with some Euro-Aqua fish.
“After walking around, we decided we wanted swim one and two. Having got the swim we wanted, this was the start of everything clicking into place! After deciding on the spots, a mix of open water, far margins, tight to the island and a spit between the islands, we didn’t have long to wait before the madness unfolded, and in fact, it didn’t really stop! Most nights we didn’t fish, just so we could get some sleep.
“I had seven double runs in total and the missus had to step in and help me out, landing her new PB in the form of a 43lb mirror! The bites were coming at regular intervals. I was living my best life!
“By the time Saturday came around, I had finished up with 43 carp, including a new personal best, an absolute beast of a common at 56lb 6oz, which was backed up by 11 forties to 49lb.
“The winning approach was using lake pellets glugged in lashings of Calanus Hydro and Hot Hemp Oil, with 15mm Secret 7 pop-ups fished over the top.”
