PBS TUMBLE IN 62-CARP FRENCH HAUL!
Mike Globe is going to need another holiday to help him get over the hectic week he spent at Etang Cailleaux in France, a week that produced four personal bests and 62 carp!
“The venue is known to do a few bites, but what unfolded through the week was crazy,” said Mike
“I finished with 67 fish, comprising 62 carp, four cats and a sturgeon, breaking four personal bests in the process. The undoubted highlight was a new PB common of 51lb 10oz and an absolute peach.
“The carp actually spawned in the middle of our week, meaning we had three days when they were feeding up pre-spawning and could hardly keep a rod in the water. We then had two quiet days while they spawned and then finished with a few brilliant days. With the carp looking for food, heavy baiting was the key to holding the fish on the peg, and I used The Bug to great effect, getting through more than 60kg of Bug boilies, 60kg of pellets, plus tigers and loads of Bug Hydro Spod Syrup. A truly incredible trip!”
Mike’s fish were caught on snowman presentations, comprising 18mm Bug bottom baits tipped with halved Wraysberry pop-ups.
