PURSUIT OF 48LB ESSEX COMMON COMPLETED!
He thought it may never happen, but after three years in pursuit of his Essex syndicate’s big girl, Ian Davis has finally met her acquaintance.
Weighing in at 48lb, it was a very special and timely capture for Ian, as not only did he get to share the moment with friends, Luke Belton and Peter Hudd, but it was also a new PB common, breaking a record that had lasted a decade.
Ian said: “She’s quite a shy one and, to be honest, I never thought I would actually get to meet her, but it was my time, and at a very healthy 48lb, she looked immaculate as usual.”
The fish finally gave itself up to a salt-cured Bug bottom bait that Ian topped with plastic corn, fished over a baited area of mixed-sized Bug boilies, hemp and maples.
