QUEEN OF THE POND!
Eighteen-year-old George Halford announced his return to the bank in spectacular fashion, setting a new personal best of 43lb with the queen of the lake on his Ringwood syndicate.
Having not fished for a few months, the youngster has really got the bug back again now!
“After not being out on the bank for a good few months, it was good to get the rods out,” said George.
“I found a lot of fish down one end of the lake in the shallow water. I gave them plenty of grub, as I knew they would be hungry as the lake had just reopened. After a few smaller ones, the rod busted off and the queen of the pond slid over the lip of my landing net. Having not spawned yet, I knew she would be massive, a new PB of 43lb – I was buzzing!”
George targeted a small gravel hump surrounded by lots of weed, where he offered a tiger nut balanced with a small Fruitylicious pop-up. His bait mixture comprised 15mm SLK boilies and tigers that he had prepared in Calanus Hydro.
