RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME!
It was a case of right place, right time for Martin Smith when a recent visit to his syndicate water saw him set a new UK personal best with a 46lb giant!
After moving on to fish at six o’clock in the morning, Martin got a single Milky Malt pop-up positioned on to a bar in 3ft of water and was able to watch the beast of a mirror drop down on to the bar and snaffle the hookbait!
A 15-minute battle ensued, with Martin needing to jump in the lake to land the fish, but eventually a well-earned new personal best was his.
The night before the move, Martin had also bagged himself a 35lb mirror.
