Another angler defying the difficult conditions on Cambridgeshire’s Abbey Lake over the weekend was Rodney Underwood.

With the lake being shallow and covered in silkweed, Rod opted for a solid-bag approach, using a mixture of crushed S7 and Switch boilies, Krill Meal and Blizzard at the bottom of the bag to mask the hook, and a combination of Crayfish Mini, Maxi, S7, SLK and Switch pellets, along with some S7 Hydro Spod Syrup, at the top of the bag.

Fishing either 15mm pink Secret 7 Half Tones pop-ups or Pink Peril wafters inside the bags, Rod managed to tempt fish of 24lb 9oz and 23lb 14oz for his efforts.
