STANBOROUGH LAKE’S LARGEST TO LOCAL ANGLER
Stanborough Lake has thrown up its largest resident to a local angler.
The Welwyn Garden City venue is known to be a great water for a bite of two, but getting through to one of the largest inhabitants can be quite challenging.
Jamie Fitzwater, a 33-year-old drainage engineer from Harpenden, managed to achieve it, however, capping a five-fish catch with the biggest fish in the lake, a common of 33lb 3oz.
Jamie tempted the thirty, along with four doubles, fishing in the margins with Secret 7 Half Tones pop-ups on Ronnie rigs over a mixture of Secret 7 boilies and Secret 7 pellets.
