TEAM HAULING ON GAUNTS LAKE!
John Kittle and his friend David shared a hectic 48-hour spell together on the Gaunts Lake syndicate at Linear Fisheries, landing 17 fish between them, including a 33lb personal best for David.
John said: “Setting up for a four-day session on Gaunts, work soon got under way trying to find a clear area amongst the dense Canadian weed. A clear gully just under 80 yards was the target and 30 spods of the ever-faithful Bug and S7 boilies, Crayfish pellets and particles completely soaked in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup were dispatched and it was game on!
“After a reasonable 48 hours with five fish landed to low twenties but also losing four to the thick weed, a tactical rig change was made just as a good friend arrived for a guest session, so we decided to share the swim as there was plenty of water to go at between us. It turned out to be a wise decision, as the next 48 hours were completely mental, with 17 fish gracing the bank, including a 29-pounder, a corking 28lb 15oz common and nine other fish for myself, with David landing six in total, including a new PB of 33lb using the same baiting approach.
“A truly memorable session shared between friends working as a team to decimate the swim, going through 35kg of bait in total!”
Bug 18mm Corker wafters fished on slip-D rigs did the business for the lads, fished over a mixture of Bug and Secret 7 12-millers and mini dumbbells, Crayfish Maxi Mix pellets, tigers and buckwheat that they had drowned in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup.
