Ryan Balcarres from Coventry has recently shared with us this epic capture he had a few months ago from an 86-acre country park, an amazing new personal best of 27lb 4oz.

Known as the Big Lin, it was a landmark capture for Ryan, who has been trying to achieve something truly special from his angling this year.

“This was part of my current campaign to land a British thirty or an epic fish from a huge natural venue,” said Ryan.

“I caught this old historic monster, one of the A team, on only my fourth session after 8-10 weeks of prebaiting, battling shoals of big bream and thousands of birds.”

The fish came to a snowman presentation comprising an 18mm SLK bottom bait tipped with 15mm SLK Corker pop-up, which Ryan fished amongst a mixture of 18mm, 15mm and chopped SLK boilies, along with some pellets.
