We head back to France again for another giant, this time from the Mar-Peche complex, where Andy Blower capped a memorable week with the capture of a 64lb 6oz beast known as the Italian!
The Italian is one of the last known original stock fish in the lake and was backed up by other fish to low forties.
Andy gave careful consideration to his bait prep before his session, soaking a mixture of 12mm, 15mm and 18mm Bug boilies in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup and Hot Hemp Oil a week before his session, then repeating the process 24 hours before fishing, before adding the final touch: a good covering of Insect Meal.
The 45-year-old introduced his bait to a small gravel seam at 114 yards, where he fished over the top with critically balanced Bug Corker pop-ups with pink toppers.
