Robert Hepworth said he’s yet to blank since adding the SLK to his armoury, having recently landed his third thirty on the bait from his Essex syndicate.
The 30lb 4oz mirror known as Mini Tips came just before 6am, putting up a spirited fight whilst trying to kite towards the pads. The fish is one of the lake’s originals and is believed to be more than 25 years of age, which is older than Robert’s sons, he added.
Robert rigged up with a 15mm SLK Corker pop-up, which was fished at eight wraps to an open-water spot. He attached a PVA bag of SLK boilies, which he had pre-soaked in Hot Hemp Oil and dusted in Krill Meal.
“Since adding SLK to my armoury, I’ve caught on every session,” said: “It’s a big-fish bait for sure, having done me three thirties from four fish.”
