Hauling machine Leonard Cooper has landed a staggering 60 fish in his past two sessions on Thorpe Lea, after bagging a further 22 fish to 29lb 4oz on his latest visit to the Surrey day-ticket venue.

The 27-year-old from Otford, Kent, was returning to the lake following a 38-fish hit on his previous visit, a catch that was topped by a new personal best of 30lb 12oz.

“What a brilliant bait,” said Leonard, who once again used Secret 7 boilies that he had pre-soaked for 48 hours in S7 Hydro Spod Syrup and Salmon Oil.

“I found a spot at comfortable range and let the bait hold the carp for prolonged feeding spells. I put out 3-5 Spombs every hour, getting through 10kg of bait in total. Thorpe Lea carp just love Secret 7!”

This time Leonard’s catch included a 29lb 4oz mirror and a 26lb 8oz common.

At the business end, Leonard used 10mm PB pop-ups in solid bags of Crayfish Mini Mix pellets, injecting the bags with Salmon Oil.
