Luke Clarke from Leicester earned himself a new personal best over the weekend, after landing the largest fish in his 38-acre syndicate water!
Of the approximated 200 fish in the lake, the 32-year-old managed to pick out the one the majority of the members want, the aptly named Perfect Common at 37lb.
Luke said: “I turned up to the syndicate at 6pm after work on the Friday and spent an hour and half walking around looking for fish and a peg in the right location.
“Once I found a swim I was happy with, I then put three rods out at three different areas in my swim, all on size 6 Ronnie rigs baited with 15mm Bug Half Tones pop-ups over about a kilo of 15mm Bug shelf-life boilies.
“I woke up at 7am on Saturday to a screaming run on the middle rod! A 20-minute battle ensued, before a fish known as the Perfect Common, the largest fish in the lake, appeared in the net, giving me a new personal best in the process. I was ecstatic!”
