After seeing all the successes The Bug has been contributing towards over in France, Jamie Parvin decided to give it a go when he visited Chase Lakes for a week – and it didn’t disappoint!
The pick of the trip was a colossal 62lb 8oz mirror that Jamie got to name after his nan for her 90th birthday, backed up by a 56lb 8oz common known as Kit and nine other fish to 43lb.
The 42-year-old from Skegness said: “After using Secret 7 and SLK for a few years now, this was my first time using The Bug. Seeing how well it has been doing in France already, I didn’t hesitate to take it!
“The session kicked off with a 62lb 8oz mirror on the first night, a fish I got to name Dorris after my nan for her 90th birthday. On the second night I had the 56lb 8oz common known as Kit after the owner’s son, which was followed by the 43lb common on the Thursday.
“These were backed up by eight other fish, comprising six thirties and two twenties, the majority coming from the snags and a couple from open water.”
Jamie used either 15mm Bug Corker wafters or the larger Bug dumbbell Corker wafters on slip-D rigs, which he fished in conjunction with sticks made up from Bug Stick Mix, Betastim Mini Mix pellets, Insect Meal, Betastim and Hemp Oil. Jamie fished his rigs over a mixture of crumbed and chopped Bug freebies.
