Russell Angus made the most of the carpy conditions after arriving at Linear Fisheries on a Saturday and finding fish showing everywhere!
The 29-year-old from Upper Boddington knew he wanted to be on the end of the wind and after a short walk settled on peg 31 on Hardwick Smiths, where there were clearly plenty of fish out in front.
Fishing to a gravel bar, Russell introduced a mixture of 15mm and 18mm Bug boilies and offered solid bags over the top, all of which featured Bug Half Tones wafter hookbaits, Crayfish Mini Mix pellets and Bug Stick Mix.
Russell would go on to tempt five fish over the course of his 24-hour stay, featuring three thirties of 34lb 5oz, 31lb 5oz and 31lb, as well as two twenties to 28lb.
“Definitely a red-letter 24-hour session and one I will never forget,” added Russell.
