A hectic 24 hours’ floater fishing on Brasenose 1 saw Jack Lee and his brother share a 25-fish haul, with Jack narrowly falling short of his first UK forty with a mirror of 39lb 5oz.
Jack said: “I headed straight to Farlows after work for a planned weekend’s fishing with my brother, but unfortunately, as expected, the venue was very busy. We opted to fish the factory bank for the night, but packed up early and headed for Linear.
“The fear of again turning up to another busy complex and spending most of the day finding a desired swim was on my mind, but we pulled straight up to Brasenose 1 and found swims free that showed promise of a few fish. We set up and were excited to start fishing.
“The weather was hot and muggy, making fishing on the deck hard work. My brother opted for the zig approach, catching multiple fish, which convinced me to change up and get the floaters out.
“Fishing short wasn’t the one, so I changed to a heavy 50g interceptor to fish long range where the fish felt safer and more confident to feed. After what was a quick 24 hours on the lake, we managed to rack up more than 30 bites and landed 25 fish between us, with my biggest being a 39lb 5oz mirror.”
Jack got his fish feeding on Betastim Floaters and received his bites on trimmed-down Bug Corker pop-up.
