“I’M HOPING I’VE STUMBLED UPON SOMETHING SPECIAL”
Dave Ash thinks he has stumbled upon something special for the summer, after catching three fish to upper twenties on Peppered Squid Candy Sticks fished on the surface!
Dave said: “A very hot weekend saw me down my Oxfordshire syndicate lake and I used a mixture of my go-to baits to tempt five fish to 29lb 14oz, three of which came to free-lined baits!
“Not really noted as a surface venue, I baited with dog biscuits and was surprised when they started taking them. After a few hours of casting my hookbait to taking fish with no luck, I decided to try a piece of Peppered Squid Candy Stick straight on the hook. Within a few moments it was taken by a hard-fighting 28lb 10oz mirror, followed by two twenties on the same tactic. I’m hoping I’ve stumbled upon something special and can’t wait to give it another go!”
Dave’s two other fish succumbed to 15mm Bug Hard Hookers tipped with 12mm PB pop-ups over particles.
