The Lea Valley has once again established its reputation as a haven for large, old English carp after throwing up a brand-new 50-pounder.
Known as the Quarter Lin, this 50lb 8oz giant was not only a lake record but also a personal best for its captor, 21-year-old Aaron Lamy from Cheshunt.
Aaron, who was on a 48-hour session at the time, also had three other fish to 27lb 12oz during his session.
PB 15mm pop-ups fished on modified Ronnie rigs proved the downfall of Aaron’s fish, with tiger nuts used as loosefeed.
