Secret 7 has claimed many Monks Pit biggies down the years, but lately it has been the turn of The Bug!
Luke McMahon from Nottingham was on a 48-hour session on the Cambridgeshire syndicate when he hit into one of the lake’s 40lb-plus commons, a chunky common aptly named Arnie, weighing in at 42lb 6oz.
The 28-year-old targeted a spot tight to some reeds, offering a 15mm Bug Hard Hooker tipped with a 12mm Bug Half Tones pop-up amongst a bed of chopped and crushed Bug boilies and pellets.
