NEW TRENT VIEW THIRTY NAMED AFTER DAUGHTER
Mike Globe’s run of success on Trent View continued over the weekend, as he bagged another of the Nottinghamshire day-ticket venue’s resident thirties whilst being joined on the session by his five-year-old daughter, Ruby.
The 32lb ghostie in question was a new thirty for the venue, which meant Mike got to name the fish, and it only seemed fitting to name the fish after his companion for the trip.
The 46-year-old from Leeds said: “The fishing was tricky in some bizarre October conditions, but by setting little traps with maximum attraction, we managed three bites across the weekend. The highlight was an incredible 32lb 6oz ghostie, which fell to a solid bag with a Wraysberry wafter hookbait, fished just down the marginal shelf over a high-attract mix of Bug boilies soaked in Calanus Hydro, Bug crumb, Insect Meal and loads of extra liquids. I find liquids such an edge when the fishing is tricky, particularly the Hydro Spod Syrup!
“The ghostie was another new thirty for Trent View and, as is customary, we got to name it, obviously choosing ‘Ruby’. I’m looking forward to catching it again when it’s over forty!”
