Here’s yet another forty to add to the recent tally, this one falling to the rods of 60-year-old Steve White during a prolific session on the Carp Syndicate in Crowborough.
Steve, who landed his first UK forty from the venue back in April in the form of the Big Common, then set his sights on his first UK 40lb-plus mirror, and it only took him a matter of months!
Topping a five-fish catch over the course of a 48-hour session was Steve’s new personal best of 43lb 9oz, backed up by a trio of thirties to 37lb 8oz and an upper twenty.
Steve targeted an island margin at 30 yards and fished over a bed of mixed-sized Bug and SLK boilies, all soaked in a mixture of Calanus Hydro, Yeast Extract and lake water.
