Autumn, a transitional time of year when the nights get longer, the temperature starts to drop and the leaves begin to fall from the trees. Whilst many people begin choosing to spend more time indoors at this time of year, the majority of carp anglers will be looking to do the complete opposite as they aim to exploit the autumn harvest!

There are very few carp anglers in the world, let alone the country, who can boast an album like that of Simon Crow’s, and many of those most significant entries have come during the autumn period.

To get his take on autumn carping and to learn more about the things we should all be focusing on and looking out for at this time of year, we caught up with Crowy on the banks of Selby 3 Lakes in North Yorkshire. Regarded as one of the most historic venues in the North, this is somewhat of a trip down memory lane for Crowy, as it approximately 15 years since he last walked the 3 Lakes paths, having caught all the lake’s A-team during his time on the venue.

Crowy talks everything from spot placement, bite times and, of course, bait, which is arguably more important in autumn than it is at any other time of year.
