If you are considering making The Bug your bait of choice of 2022, but don’t feel you know enough about it, here’s the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we get about The Bug that may help make your mind up.

? WHAT IS THE LEAD TIME ON THE BUG?
Very short! Approximately 2-3 working days.

? IS THE BUG A FISHMEAL?
No, there isn’t a trace of fishmeal in it. It is an insect meal, derived from black soldier fly larvae.

? WHAT DOES THE BUG SMELL LIKE?
It has an old-school creamy, chocolate-malt flavour, with a nutty taste profile.

? WHAT ELSE IS IN THE BUG?
There is a powdered and liquid version of an extremely high-quality poultry meat hydrolysate that has a fantastic free amino profile. We also have a lovely powdered fermented maize hydrolysate that also improves palatability and solubility, plus a sustainable microscopic crustacean extract high in free amino acids, an original ingredient from when the bait was first formulated in 2018.

? HOW CAN I GUARANTEE I GET THE BUG IN TIME FOR MY SESSION?
Just write in the delivery instructions at the checkout when you are going fishing and we’ll do our very to get it to you by then. If there are any issues, we’ll let you know in advance.

? CAN I USE THE BUG IN THE COLDER MONTHS?
Absolutely! The Bug is an archetypal year-round bait, owing to its high digestibility and solubility. The Bug went through three autumns and winters of testing and got better each year as we tweaked it, until it became the bait it is today. The results it achieved in 2021 were phenomenal, but we are expecting even bigger things to come in 2022!

? I LIKE TO MIX TWO BAITS TOGETHER – WHAT OTHER BAIT CAN I USE THE BUG WITH?
Many anglers have had success mixing The Bug with another bait, with both Secret 7 and SLK complementing it perfectly.

? WHAT LIQUID SHOULD I USE TO SOAK MY BUG FREEBIES?
The Bug Liquid Food is perfect for glazing your baits in advance, then when it comes to spodding out, pour some Bug Spod Syrup into the Spomb each time you cast out for maximum effect. If it’s good enough for Bart, it’s good enough for anyone!
