A solid bit of watercraft and having ultimate confidence in his bait helped Grant Robinson bag a near-40lb mirror during a 24-hour session on his Essex syndicate water.
The 38-year-old tattoo artist anticipated the movements of the fish and where they would be the following morning and was proven absolutely spot on by this 39lb 14oz mirror.
Grant said: “After walking the venue and not really seeing much to go on, I opted to fish an area where I predicted fish would turn up in by the morning based on previous observations. Sure enough, at 7 o’clock the next morning, the left-hand rod ripped off! Once again, The Bug proving foolproof every time I use it!”
Having baited a silty area amongst weed at 70 yards with 15mm and 18mm Bug boilies soaked in Calanus Hydro and covered in Insect Meal, an 18mm Bug Corker wafter was there waiting for the fish to trip up.
