THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES…
Harry Palmer set off early from his home in Middlesbrough to ensure he could get on the fish ahead of his three-night session on his new syndicate water, Girton Lake A in Nottinghamshire.
The extra effort proved worthwhile, as he picked off four fish in total, comprising a dark 32lb 8oz common and three twenties to 28lb 3oz.
The 19-year-old targeted the edge of a bay with either white Bug Half Tones or PB pop-ups on spinner rigs, fished over a bed of Bug crumb, hemp, maize and buckwheat.
