THE ONE THEY ALL WANT!
Just two sessions into his 2023 campaign on the Keer Lake syndicate at Clear Water Fisheries, Thomas James managed to get his hands on the most-sought-after common in the lake!
Known as Black Eye and weighing in at 43lb 3oz, it was also a new personal best for Tom, who only returned to Keer Lake last week after catching fish to 33lb 4oz over the winter on Kellet Lake.
Tom said: “I started the session back where I caught last week, fishing in 17ft of water. It was quiet to start with, but I had a feeling with the weather coming in the fish would end up back in this area.
“The second morning they turned up in the zone, as I saw multiple shows that morning and the bites quickly followed.”
Tom has three bites in total, with two landed, all coming to PB pop-ups fished over a few kilos of chopped and whole 15mm Bug boilies and corn, which he smothered in Bug Hydro Spod Syrup.
